A huge part of the climate problem is a communication problem and a bright future imagery problem. I love this pod that encapsulates, in your charming and knowledgeable guest, answers to these problems. What a unique and useful perspective provided here, the tree-huggers versus the glowering government officials. Talk about energy abundance, not carbon.

As a luddite, to me the idea of abundant energy is terrifying. Every energy shift has enabled more humans to live on the planet, erode the planetary systems that support complex life. We're heading for unsurviveable CO2e levels rapidly. You know all this. The likelihood we all expand and live in peace and harmony because energy isn't limited is fictional because of those other limiting factors including our own competitive, violent natures, our tendency to form hierarchical power structures. What am I missing?

Great piece - with plenty of opportunities to raise eyebrows and sniff patchouli... Love the idea of a "sun shield" though - and Ukraine is a great example, allowing them to cobble some energy infrastructure back together after such constant grid bombardment. Solar punk future here we come!

Energy abundance for fair prices tech is going to run into the billionaire grift of “ooh! I can make a LOT of money gatekeeping this!”

“They're too big to code liberal. They're too big to…, they have too much money to be dismissed as hippies,”

Yes, it would be truly lovely 🥰 if the clean, inexpensive, energy were shared fairly.

I remain cynical that billionaires will allow it to be shared fairly.
