Democrats have wasted no time after winning a trifecta in Minnesota in 2022. Less than six weeks after taking control of government, they have passed a new law mandating zero-carbon electricity in the state by 2040. I talk with the bill's author and primary sponsor about some of the challenges the bill faced and what's next for state energy policy.
Man, I am just not that easily impressed by politicos, and I'm bowled over by Rep. Jamie Long. That is one smart dude -- and one of the giveaways is that just about every other sentence he's sharing credit with others and boosting them (Biden, Walz, etc.). Just brilliant. Good bill, good interview, good questions on good topics. It's hard to do a good interview of a winner on your side without it turning into just a gushing slobber fest and you pulled it off, giving him all due props while still keeping it grounded.
Like the recent electric school bus show, one of the rare Volts pods that leaves me feeling hopeful, well done.

I guess you can't expect to see results in the partial year, 2023. But, ouch! WI kicked their ass! 😄
